Spartans duo off to Mexico
Alicia Perrin and Kelci French are going for gold with Canada in Mexico.
The duo — members of the Trinity Western Spartans women's volleyball team — have been chosen to play for Canada at the upcoming Pan Am Cup.
The event runs July 12-21 in Cuidad Juarez, Mexico.
Perrin is a middle for the Spartans while French is a setter.
Both have played for Canada previously.
French trained for two years at the National Training Centre prior to coming to Langley and was on the senior women's roster for the NORCECA Olympic qualification tournament earlier this year.
Perrin played for Canada at the 2011 FISU (World University) Games.
Outside hitter Royal Richardson and setter Lauren Moncks also trained with Canada's women's national A/B team last month.
