There was no late-game heroics necessary this time for the Langley Thunder.

After winning their playoff opener with a goal in the final minute of regulation, the Thunder scored a 9-6 victory over the host Burnaby Lakers in game two of the best-of-seven Western Lacrosse Association semifinal series on Aug. 3.

The game was played at Burnaby's Bill Copeland Arena.

Lewis Ratcliff led the way for the top-seed Thunder scoring five times and setting up one other.

Athan Iannucci scored twice and had two assists, while Joel McCready and Kyle Belton had a goal apiece.

Brett Mydske chipped in with three assists and Garrett Billings and Alex Turner both had a pair of helpers.

Tor Reinholdt, Ian Poole and Brodie MacDonald also found the scoresheet with an assist apiece.

MacDonald also made 31 saves.

Langley looks to take a commanding 3-0 series lead on Aug. 7 at the Langley Events Centre. Game time is 7:45 p.m.
