Langley's Whitehouse earns weekly honours

For the second time this year, Langley's Darren Whitehouse has earned athlete of the week honours.

The second-year arts major and member of the Fraser Valley Cascades golf team was named the UFV Cascades/Abbotsford Heat athlete of the week for the week ending Sept. 30.

Whitehouse, a Walnut Grove graduate, earned the honour after shooting a two-day score of 145, which was good for a three-way tie for third place at a Pacwest tournament in Nanaimo.

With one tournament to go — which is this weekend (Oct. 6-7) in Chilliwack, Whitehouse sits one stroke off the individual Pacwest title.

"Darren has been consistent for us all year, he has been amazing to watch,: said Fraser Valley coach Chris Bertram.
