Silver for Langley Selects
It was a silver lining for a Langley soccer team.
The Langley U11 Selects dropped the gold medal game 1-0 on Monday morning to Marpole Inter Milan in the finals of the fifth annual Thanksgiving Coquitlam Metro Ford soccer tournament.
The Langley United Soccer Association squad had gone 1-1-1 to win their pool.
They conceded just two goals over their four games, both of which were against Marpole Inter Milan in identical 1-0 games.
In Langley’s other games, they tied the Vancouver Athletics Predators 1-1 and hammered CMF Barcelona 4-0.
The team is made up of Cameron Roberts, Evan Scott, Kyle Morfitt, Nathan Flint, Nathan Rettig, Josh Dyce, Josh Reinhard, Stefen Facchin, Benjamin Vanderberg, Devon Chescoe, Nicholas, Sarrazin, Ethan Smith and Connor Pauga.
