Levi De Waal's second power-play goal of the third period was the difference as the North Delta Devils edged the Aldergrove Kodiaks 6-5.

De Waal's scored with 8:28 remaining in the Pacific Junior Ice Hockey League junior B game at the Aldergrove Arena on Wednesday (Oct. 10).

Aldergrove's Daniel Higgs had tied the score at five with his third goal of the night just a few minutes earlier.

The Kodiaks led 2-1 after 20 minutes, but trailed 4-3 after two periods. And twice in the third period, Aldergrove would pull even, but both times, De Waal responded with power-play goals.

Both Higgs and Stephen Ryan (one goal, three assists) had four-point games. MacLean Hewitt chipped in with a pair of assists and Matthew Vela had the other Kodiak goal.

The Kodiaks fell to 4-5-0-0 on the season.

The team hits the road on Oct. 13 as they visit the Harry Jerome Rec Centre for a date with the North Vancouver Wolf Pack.

The team's next home game is Oct. 17 against the Delta Ice Hawks.
