Langley Rivermen slow Express

The Langley Rivermen doubled up the visiting Coquitlam Express 4-2 in BCHL junior A action.

The two Mainland Division rivals squared off on Saturday night at the Langley Events Centre.

Langley’s Matt Ustaski and Coquitlam’s Josh Siemer traded power-play goals before Austin Azurdia put the Rivermen ahead after 20 minutes.

And after Siemer tied the score early in the second, Evan Anderson put the Rivermen ahead for good prior to intermission.

Evan Campbell added an insurance goal midway through the third.

James Barr stopped 25 shots for the win.

Langley was also in action Nov. 7 as they travelled to Chilliwack to face the Chiefs.

Anderson opened the scoring for the Rivermen put the Chiefs scored five unanswered to win 5-1.

Langley is on an Island road trip this weekend, facing Nanaimo, Cowichan Valley and Powell River.
