Trinity Western Spartans' Alison Jackson was a winner both on the track and off.

Jackson won a pair of medals — gold in the 3000m and silver in the 1500m — at the Canada West track and field championships in Regina on Feb. 22 and 23 as well as earning the conference nomination for the Student-Athlete and Community Service Award.

Jackson has a lengthy list of efforts as both a student-athlete and within the community.  Jackson volunteered with a variety of organizations including coaching with Special Olympics, helping to organize triathlon events with Athletes in Action, helping with the B.C. speed skating provincial championships and volunteering at Menno Home, which is an assisted living residence and hospital.

She acted as the chaplain for Team Canada at the world triathlon championships this past October in Auckland, New Zealand. Within her Spartans team, she organizes team building events and is a Complete Champion Approach tutor for fellow TWU athletes. In the summer, she also coaches kids in triathlon in her hometown of Vermilion, Alta.
