Gregg's silver nets cash for Langley club
A silver-medal performance on the world stage has paid dividends to a Langley sporting group.
The Langley Blades Speed Skating Club was the recipient of $1,000 from Intact Insurance thanks to Jessica Gregg winning silver at a World Cup event in Montreal.
For every medal a member of the Canadian national team wins on the World Cup circuit, Intact Insurance — a sponsor of the team — donates $1,000 to a local speed skating club.
The Blades, who are always open to new and experienced skaters of all ages, are hosting the Fraser Valley Funale at the Walnut Grove Sportsplex on March 8 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
