Donohoe's hat trick sends Chiefs past Langley
A three-goal second period was the difference as the Chilliwack Chiefs defeated the Langley Rivermen 5-2.
The Rivermen were playing their regular season finale on March 7 at the Langley Events Centre.
The teams traded goals in the opening 20 minutes — Ryan Donohoe short-handed for the Chiefs and Mark Whiteley on the power play for the Rivermen.
Donohoe's second of the game, this time on the power play, put the Chiefs ahead for good four minutes into the second period. And then they added a pair of goals 67 seconds part just before intermission from Philip Zielonka and Spencer Graboski.
Evan Campbell cut the lead to 4-2 early in the third but Donohoe completed the hat trick with his second short-handed tally of the game to round out the scoring.
The two teams wrap up the BCHL regular season on March 9 with a game at Chilliwack's Prospera Centre.
