Ten from Langley earn spots on Team BC

Nine members of the Langley Gymnastics Foundation have qualified to represent Team B.C. at the western Canadian championships.

Lauren Van Harmelen, Abby Strand, Haley Biggin, Allyson Armstrong and Stephanie Bedry earned spots on the women’s artistic gymnastics team.

And qualifying for the men’s gymnastics team were Kevin Naismith, Tyler Welch, Carl Froese and Ben Strybos.

Langley’s Kyle Machibroda-Ames, who competes with Abbotsford’s Twisters Gymnastics, also earned a spot on the team.

The athletes were selected based on their performances at three trials earlier this year, including the Christy Fraser Memorial Invitational at the Langley Events Centre March 8 to 10.

The western Canadian championships will be held May 2 to 4 in Winnipeg.
