The Brookswood Bobcats raced out to a 33-14 lead after one quarter and never looked back as they advanced to the final four.

The Bobcats defeated the MEI Eagles 88-65 on Thursday (March 6) night at the Langley Events Centre in quarter-final action at the B.C. senior girls Triple-A basketball championships.

And as has been the case for much of the season, it was the ’Cats trio of Aislinn Konig, Tayla Jackson and Jessie Brown delivering the bulk of the damage.

The threesome contributed 76 of Brookswood's 88 points to move on to the semifinal round.

Konig led the way with 29 points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals.

Jackson, who was named player of the game, had 26 points and eight rebounds. She also had three steals and two assists.

And Brown finished with 21 points, including hitting on five-of-10 three-point shots.

They face the W.J. Mouat Hawks on Friday (March 7) with the winner playing in the provincial final on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.

The loser will play for bronze earlier in the day at noon.

The other semifinal pits top-ranked Holy Cross against Oak Bay.
