The Langley Blue Jays soared to victory over the weekend.

The team of eight-year-olds from the Langley Baseball Association took top spot at the second annual Will Smith Memorial Tournament hosted by North Langley Diamond Sports.

The Blue Jays defeated the Whalley Yankees 20-12 in the championship game on Sunday afternoon. They had defeated the Hastings Expos 16-15 in the semifinals earlier, while the Yankees edged the North Langley A’s 11-10 in the other.

The Blue Jays had gone 2-1 in the round robin, beating the A’s 13-8 and the New Westminster Yankees 13-5. They lost to the North Langley Mariners 13-12.
