The BC Aquasonics Senior Team won the Canadian Open synchronized swimming championships, beating their nearest competitor by a full 2.6 points.

The competition was held on May 3 in Saskatoon.

The Aquasonics senior team scored 74.5667 to win gold with their routine “Atlantis,” ahead of silver medalists Synchro Elite de Quebec and Les Vestales who placed third.

“We just won the national championships by a landslide,” said Aquasonics head coach Susan Kemper.

“In this sport, it can be just hundredths of a point that separate competitors.

"Not today. This team showed up for work and brought home gold.”
