Trinity Western men’s volleyball left side Nick Del Bianco was named to Canada’s senior B team, marking his first foray onto the national scene at the senior level.

Del Bianco, who will enter his fifth-year at TWU this fall, is coming off a 2013-14 campaign in which he averaged a team-high 4.19 points per set and was named both a Canada West first team all-star and a CIS second team all-Canadian. This was the second year in a row he earned both conference and national accolades, as he was also a Canada West First Team All-Star and CIS First Team All-Canadian in 2012-13.

After carving out an impressive beach volleyball career in his earlier days, which included a pair of national championships and both youth and junior world championship appearances, Del Bianco has recently focused more on the indoor game, starting last summer.

Playing with Team BC, he earned a bronze medal at the 2013 Canada Summer Games and in 2011,  he was also  flag bearer for the opening ceremonies for Team BC at the Western Canada Summer Games.

Former Spartan Steven Marshall who was named to Canada’s World League roster earlier this week, was also named to the national B team.
