Lightning seventh at provincial tourney

The Langley Christian Lightning came seventh at the provincials championships.

The girls soccer team won their final game 3-0 over Whistler on Saturday at the B.C. senior girls Single A soccer championships.

The tournament was hosted at Vancouver’s West Point Grey Academy.

The Lightning, who finished second in the Fraser Valley championships, went 2-1 in pool play.

With fifth place the best the team could do, Langley Christian lost their next game 1-0 to Nakusp and were relegated to play for seventh spot.
