Bilko named BC Hockey's top official

Langley’s Nick Bilko was named the official of the year at the BC Hockey awards banquet.

It was held on Saturday (June 21) night  at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.

Bilko, a level four referee and linesman and product of the Langley Minor Hockey Association, primarily officiates in the BC Hockey Above Minor Program as a linesman in the Western Hockey League, Canadian Interuniversity Sport and B.C. Hockey League (junior A) and as a referee in the Pacific Junior Hockey League (junior B).

This past year saw him selected to work as a referee in both the Cyclone Taylor Cup and the Keystone Cup, the provincial and Western Canadian junior B championships, respectively.

He also worked as a linesman in the WHL playoffs and the Royal Bank Cup, the Canadian junior A national championship. And Bilko was the lone B.C. representative at the CIS (university) championships.
