West’s best taking the floor

The best of the west are facing off in Langley as the ball drops on the Western Challenge Cup.

Thirty-eight teams — the bulk of which are from B.C. with a few from Alberta —  will be hitting the floor as they go for gold.

The tournament begins today (Thursday) and wraps up on Sunday (July 20) with the games being held at the George Preston Recreation Centre, Langley Events Centre and Aldergrove Arena.

The event is being hosted by the Valley Ball Hockey Association.

The tournament has teams in the U11, U13, U15, U17 and U19 divisions with all of the gold and bronze medal games set for Sunday.

All of the gold medal games will be contested at the George Preston Recreation  Centre, while the bronze medal games are being held at the Aldergrove Arena.

VBHA has teams in each division.
