The Langley Junior Blaze saw their five-game win streak come to an end with a 10-2 loss to the White Rock Junior Tritons.

The two U16 baseball teams were playing on July 30 at South Surrey Athletic Park and the loss dropped Langley's record to 37-6 with one regular season game to play.

White Rock improved to 21-23.

The outcomes of both games are irrelevant to the Blaze as they have already wrapped up top spot in the B.C. Junior Premier Baseball League and will be seeded No. 1 for the eight-team provincial championships.

The championships run Aug. 8 to 10 in Victoria.

Against the Tritons, Langley surrendered six runs in the second inning.

Zach Davies was tagged with the loss, allowing six runs over two innings.

The offence was buoyed by Broden Bydeweg, who had three hits — including a triple — two RBI's and a stolen base, his 26th of the season.

Cole Cantelon also had a triple and scored both Langley runs.

The Blaze close the regular season on Aug. 2 in Victoria against the Jr. Mariners.
