The Vancouver Stealth added a pair of players, losing one of their key leaders in the process.

The National Lacrosse League team acquired transition player Tyler Hass and forward Dane Stevens from the Minnesota Swarm in exchange for veteran defender Mike Grimes. The Stealth also surrender a third round draft pick in the 2016 NLL Draft.

The 29-year-old Haas has played four seasons in the league, with 32 goals and 42 points in 52 games. The 26-year-old Stevens has 32 points (12 goals, 20 assists) in 18 career games.

Stealth general manager Doug Locker was happy with his acquisitions.

"Throughout his career, he has shown the willingness to do whatever is needed and brings us an added weapon in transition as well as being a steady presncde on defence," he said about Hass.

Locker said they had been watching Stevens for a number of years and feel he will bring an different dynamic to the team's offence.

"He is a guy who has a very high lacrosse IQ who can not only score goals, but distribute the ball very well," Locker said.

He added that both players should make big contributions in 2015 as the Stealth look to return to the post-season.

Grimes was a valuable player for the Stealth over the past six seasons.

"At the end of the day, he is — in our opinion — one of the the top defenders in the National Lacrosse League, so losing him is certainly not something we did not plan on," Locker said.

Grimes was looking for a trade closer to the east coast where he was set to begin a new job.

Grimes had five goals and 22 points while playing in all 18 games.

The 28-year-old had played all eight seasons in the NLL.

Prior to the trade, the Stealth signed six players, including three new faces.

The team re-signed defencemen Brad Richardson, Justin Pychel and Cody Bremner to one-year contracts.

Bremner was sixth in team scoring as a rookie in 2014 with nine goals and 23 points in 12 games.

Pychel had one point in nine games while Richardson suited up in four games. They both had nine loose balls and Richardson won 36.2 per cent of his face-offs.

They also added Tyler Burton from the Rochester Knighthawks, as well as Caleb Wiles and Johnnie Rae.
