Langley takes advantage of Triton errors to win 6-1

Kyle Prather, Colby Ring and Jacob Baker combined on a three-hitter as the Langley Blaze topped the White Rock Tritons 6-1.

The win improved Langley to 22-9 in BC Premier Baseball League action.

Prather struck out six while allowing just one run on two hits over five innings to earn the win. Ring and Baker then each pitched an inning to close things out on Thursday (June 24) at McLeod Athletic Park.

The Blaze led 2-1 after Daniel Martin’s RBI single scored Michael O’Toole for one run and Jake Kristensen scored on an error two batters later.

Langley tacked on four more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Martin belted a double and Gus Wilson scored on another White Rock error and Danny Berg’s RBI single scored Martin to make it 4-1. Langley would load the bases and Berg and Rhys Cratty scored on passed balls.

Next up for the Blaze is a Monday afternoon doubleheader in Victoria against the Mariners.

The Langley Junior Blaze were also in action this past week, seeing their record slip to 19-11 after a 13-3 to the first-place White Rock Junior Tritons.

The two BC Junior Premier Baseball League rivals squared off at McLeod Athletic Park on Wednesday (June 21).

Langley was limited to three hits while White Rock batted the ball around, scoring 13 runs on 17 hits.

Tommy Kreitz had a two-run RBI double for Langley.

The Blaze are in Victoria on Saturday (June 24) for a doubleheader against the Junior Mariners.

They also host the North Delta Junior Blue Jays on Sunday (June 25) for a twin-bill at McLeod Athletic Park.
