DW Poppy students honour Mike Roberds

Cast members from The New Addams Family TV show expected to attend event

Actor Mike Roberds, who played Uncle Fester on The New Addams Family, passed away last May.

A special night is being dedicated to the late Mike Roberds for one of DW Poppy Secondary’s performances of Sister Act.

The March 3 performance of the musical will honour Roberds, who was a Poppy grad. Since his passing last May, $6,000 has been raised so far for a theatre scholarship in his name.

Already some stars who worked with Roberds on The New Addams Family show are expected to be flying in to see the show that evening.

Roberds played Uncle Fester on The New Addams Family that played in the 1990s.

Sister Act runs March 1 to 4.

The Langley Board of Education was given a sneak peak performance at their Jan. 24 meeting.

Sister Act is the feel good musical comedy based on the 1992 blockbuster movie of the same name.

Tickets are $15 and can be bought at brownpapertickets.com.
