Audiences have opportunity to see international theatre productions on the big screen

Imagine going to see a world renowned Broadway show in your most comfortable attire down the street from your home.

This winter and spring, Cineplex Events is bringing their popular Stage Series and In the Gallery series to their theatre in Langley.

Stage Series gives audiences the opportunity to experience acclaimed Canadian and international theatre productions, some of which will play live on screen. Highlights include:

— National Theatre Live’s Amadeus (Feb. 2 and March 4)

— National Theatre Live’s Saint Joan starring Gemma Arterton (Feb. 16 and March 12)

— National Theatre Live’s Hedda Gabler starring Ruth Wilson (March 9 and April 1)

— Disney’s Broadway hit Newsies starring Jeremy Jordan (Feb. 19 and 23)

In the Gallery takes viewers into the lives of renowned artists and the galleries that house their works. Highlights include:

I, Claude Monet a striking film about one of the world’s favourite artist – through his own words (Feb. 22 and 26)

Michelangelo: Love and Death a full and fresh biography of Michelangelo who, with Leonardo, is considered one of the greatest artists of the Renaissance – and perhaps of all time (June 14 and 18)
