Langley Township fire department is reminding residents that it is burning season.
The fire department has received several calls of complaint about burning in recent weeks, but in many cases the property owner has a permit, said assistant fire chief Pat Walker.
“We have 17 land clearings in the process that will be doing burning for the next week,” said Walker.
“Permits are being issued, so that’s good to keep in mind.”
Burning is permitted twice annually, during the month of April and from Sept. 1 to Oct. 31 (weather permitting).
Burning is not permitted in urban areas.
