Langley man allegedly scammed by woman he met online

The two met online and he cashed a $1,000 cheque for her which was returned insufficient funds, say police

A Langley man may be done with online dating after allegedly being defrauded out of $1,000 from a woman he met on a relationship site.

According to Langley RCMP, the two met online and the woman told him her new debit card had not yet arrived. The man allegedly agreed to cash a cheque for her on Dec. 27. The cheque was returned insufficient funds, said Cpl. Holly Largy.

She hasn’t been heard from since and took down her social media profiles.

The accused is described as Caucasian, approximately 25-years-old, five-feet- tall, weighing approximately 145 pounds and has dyed, shoulder length red hair.
