HART, Edward (Ed) A.
October 28, 1919 – April 30, 2009
With much sadness we announce the passing of Ed Hart. Our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed peacefully with his family at his side. Ed was 89 years old and was born in Montreal, Quebec, moving to B.C. in 1977. Ed was a World War II army veteran serving overseas from 1941-45. He was a retired employee of Air Canada where he spent 22 years as a Mechanical Draftsman. A lover of big band music, Ed was a talented musician as a young man and enjoyed playing clarinet and saxophone in a band. He also enjoyed painting and had a great appreciation of art, especially the old masters. In earlier years he was an avid photographer and enjoyed taking pictures of his family and nature. Ed’s gentle and kind spirit will live on in his grandchildren. His charming sense of humor and easy going nature drew many people to him. Predeceased by parents Charles and Lily Hart , sister Patricia, brothers Charles and William. Ed is survived by his loving wife Nina, sons Steve (Tina), and Glenn, daughter Susan (Raj) and his beautiful grandchildren Landon, Kiran, Sadie and a new grandchild expected in July. During his last year Ed’s home was at George Derby Center. The wonderful care provided by nurses and staff was dignified and respectful for which we are most grateful. Family graveside service will be held at Langley Lawn Cemetery Sunday, May 10th with a celebration of life to follow at The Langley Legion, 20702 Eastleigh Crescent Saturday, May 16th. 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
