Born in Croatia, she was a daughter of the late Mike and Katie (Mahovalich) Shuster. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing bridge, which she did expertly for 45 years. She was a former member of the Royal Purple and a tireless worker in the family business, Langley Welding and Machine Ltd., doing the books and looking after her customers for 66 years, right until her death. Helen is survived by her two sons Philip (Judy) and Jim; three grandchildren, Tracey, Dana and Michael; two great grandchildren Joshua and Joel; two sisters Barbara and Anne; four brothers Peter (Irene), Frank (Maureen), John (Grace) and Mark; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband Jack predeceased her in 1978 and son Bob in 1950. Helen’s happiest times were spent in her gardens, playing bridge with dear friends and surrounded by her loving family over large dinner parties. She was very happy to have her two sons working with her throughout her life. Helen requested no funeral service – a private family graveside service only. Donations made in memory to your charity of choice or the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be appreciated.
