KRPAN, IKA (EVA)

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Ika Krpan announce her passing at the age of 80. Ika was born in Lovinac Lika, Croatia. She moved to Canada with her husband and 2 children to Richmond, BC in 1967 and in 1969 gave birth to her 3rd child. She worked with CP Air until she retired. Ika is survived by her husband of 59 yrs. Jure Krpan and a legacy of 3 generations. Her son Ivan (Dragica); daughters Dragica (Stjepan) and Mariana (Steve), 9 grandchildren, Angie (Mike), Ante, Mariana (John), Ana (Dane), Jure (Tanya), Kristina, Sabrina, Danica and Ela, 5 great grandchildren, Mateo, Cole, Tomas, Davis, and Milan. Sister Marija Miletic and her family in Croatia; first cousins, Marica Bulic, Dragica Glavacic and her family, Ikica Beg and her family in Croatia. Her abundant love for her family and friends is etched forever in our hearts and will live on for eternity. She touched many lives and her legacy, love, compassion and gentle ways will live on in those she knew and met. It is a testament to her that she was surrounded by many family and friends as she left this world. Ika’s husband and children cannot find words to express their love and gratitude to the 3rd floor care staff at Langley Gardens. Your extraordinary kindness, loving care and support reassures us that there are angels on Earth. God bless you all! Funeral Mass was held Thursday, June 19th, 2008 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Catholic Church, 3105 East 1st Ave, Vancouver BC. Dinner and celebration of life followed at the Croatian Cultural Centre. Interment at a later date in Croatia. To honour Baba Ika’s love for children, in lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
