William (Bill) Ernest GODDARD

GODDARD, William (Bill) Ernest passed away peacefully in Langley, B.C. on February 7, 2006. He was predeceased by Easter, his wife of 60 years and was the last of his original family that came to Canada from England in 1913. He is survived by the family he loved so much; sons, Paul (Bernice), Phil (Camille) and daughter, Kathryn Harrison. His grandchildren were his sheer delight! He never missed an occasion to be part of their busy lives; Liz (Jay), Geoff (Leisa), Virginia, Kristen, Daniel, Heidi, Jillian and great granddaughter Ellie Jo. Born in Vancouver, B.C. on August 22, 1920, he graduated from Kitsilano High School in 1939 and served for seven years in the Army during World War II. He was always up to a challenge and spent his early years working on oil refineries throughout BC and Alberta. He moved his family to Ottawa in the 60’s to work as the Chief Training Officer for St. John Ambulance. These moves allowed for many family adventures. Returning to BC in the 70’s, he spent the balance of his working life in the real estate industry. He was passionate about the outdoors, enjoyed hiking, camping and his involvement with Scouting. He was a wonderful teacher and mentor, reaching out and touching many lives. Good books and music enhanced his contemplative leisure hours but time with family was foremost in his mind. Dad was a man of great faith who lived what he believed. He leaves a legacy of love and will be dearly missed by all. Please join us for a Celebration of his Life on Friday, February 24, 2006 1:30 p.m. at The Seventh Day Adventist Church, 26245 – 28th Avenue in Aldergrove, B.C.
