Editor: So the people of B.C. are about to speak with a loud voice, which will echo from north to south and way beyond the Rockies to the eastern shores.
Isn’t that a wonderful voice we have, with the ballot box? What a powerful message we can send. This privilege has been won for us by great men and women willing to lay down their lives for the cause of free speech and democracy. Use it, whether you’re young or old, rich or poor, literate or illiterate — it’s free.
My hope and prayer is that the thunderous roar doesn’t leave us deaf and lame from self-inflicted wounds administered with the help of Bill Vander Zalm.
To clarify, lameness is caused by shooting ourselves in the foot, as in the foolish and misguided abolition of the HST, which simplified life for business in B.C. It even put more money in the pockets of the poor, because of the tax credits they received quarterly.
Reverting back to the old system was done mainly to punish the Liberals. It effectively punished the unfortunate taxpayer as well, that’s you and me.
Make good decisions, people of B.C. If you have trouble deciding whom to vote for, try praying. Don’t just sit on the fence.
