Langley U16 baseball team uses sixth inning rally to defeat White Rock 7-2

Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Langley Junior Blaze exploded for six runs.

The big blow was a bases-loaded double from Trevor Alcos, which cleared the bags as Langley won 7-2 over the White Rock Junior Tritons at McLeod Park on June 22.

The win was the 11th consecutive victory for the Blaze, who lead the B.C. Junior Premier Baseball with a record of 21-5.

Jake Kristensen, Jayden Knight and Mack Berry had the other RBIs for Langley.

Colby Ring improved to 8-0, striking out four in the complete game victory.

He leads the league with 64 strikeouts and is third with a 1.54 earned run average.

Langley hosts a pair of doubleheaders this weekend, facing the Victoria Junior Eagles on June 25 and the Victoria Junior Mariners on June 26. First pitch on Saturday is 1 p.m. while the action begins at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
