Eagles take tourney title

Mountain senior boys finish tops at Wellington basketball tournament in Nanaimo

Led by 55 points from Jarrett Jacobs in the championship game, the Mountain Eagles soared to the tournament title.

The senior boys basketball team was in Nanaimo for the Wellington Tournament and they went a perfect 3-0, winning their games by an average of 26 points.

The Eagles defeated the Dover Bay Dolpins 108-84 in Saturday’s final.

Mountain’s Connor Watson was named player of the game.

In the opener, Jacobs earned player of the game honours in a 103-99 win over the host Wildcats.

The semifinals saw Mountain hammer the Barsby Bulldogs 92-42 with Kyle Collis wining the player of the game award.

Collis was good on his 80 per cent of his three-point field goal attempts.
