Georgia Ellenwood was named the 2013 junior female track and field athlete of the year while Braedon Dolfo won the honoour as the top para-athletic male athlete.

Both are long-time members of the Langley Mustangs Track and Field Club.

And Trinity Western Spartans’ Nathan George received the junior male award.

The trio were honoured at the B.C. Athletics annual awards banquet on Dec. 7 at the Hilton Vancouver Airport Hotel in Richmond.

Ellenwood was unable to attend the event as she is off at university with the University of Wisconsin, where she is on a track and field scholarship.

Last summer, she won bronze for Canada in the heptathlon at the Junior Panamerican Games in Colombia.

Ellenwood also capped off her high school career for Langley Secondary with three gold and a silver medal at the B.C. high school track and field championships. The four medals upped her high school total to 10 gold and three silver, including four straight heptathlon titles.
