After watching their two-goal lead evaporate in a span of 34 seconds, the Langley Knights regrouped and reeled off the game’s final six goals as they extinguished the Ridge Meadows Flames 9-3.
The victory on Thursday (Oct. 2) night at the George Preston Recreation Centre moves the Knights into top spot of the Harold Brittain Conference in the junior B Pacific Junior Hockey League.
Langley improved to 4-3-0-0 and their eight points have them tied with the Aldergrove Kodiaks.
Langley was up 3-1 after one period but the Flames struck early in the second to tie things up. But from that point on, it was all Knights as Levi De Waal scored twice to give the home side the lead for good.
Langley tacked on two more to lead 7-3 after 40 minutes and added two more goals in the third for the rout.
Colin Catchpole led the Knights with two goals and two assists, while De Waal had a three-point game.
