Four Langley taekwondo athletes all earn top five finishes at Canadian national taekwondo national championships

Four local athletes were part of Team BC which competed at the 2016 Canadian National Taekwondo championships over the weekend in Calgary.

The four — who train out of Langley’s Woo Kim Langley Taekwondo — were part of the 52-person contingent for Team BC and all four of them returned with a top five finish in their respective classes.

Close to 900 competitors from across the country took part in the four-day competition.

Chuton Huang was golden in the female cadet (33 to 37 kg) division while her sister Shijia Huang won bronze in the junior female (49 to 52 kg) division.

And for the male competitors, Ryan Poirier took silver in the youth male (40+ kg) category while Zakary Kotzer placed fifth in the junior male (63 to 68 kg) division.
