Brodi Stuart and the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds won a pair of games over the weekend in Trail to improve to 13-7-3-1 in the BC Major Midget Hockey League. Stuart had a goal and three helpers in the victories.

The Fraser Valley Thunderbirds head into the holiday break on a two-game winning streak.

The major midget hockey team went into Trail over the weekend and defeated the Kootenay Ice 3-0 and 5-2 at the Trail Memorial Centre.

The victories improved the Thunderbirds to 13-7-3-1, and they sit  in fifth place in the BC Major Midget League.

Boston Bilous earned the shutout in the first game.

Blake Bonnar opened the scoring in the second period with Jake Mulder and Brodi Stuart adding scores in the third.

Justin Plett scored twice and had one assist in the rematch while Dawson Penner, Carter Graham and Baxter Anderson had the other goals.

Stuart finished the game with three helpers.

The Thunderbirds return to action on Jan. 7 and 8 when they host the North Island Silvertips.
