@beatstreetrecords: The legend Elton John digging at the shop today!!

Elton John spotted on the hunt for rap music in a Vancouver record store

Before a set of shows in Victoria this weekend, the singer and songwriter made a quick trip to the Mainland.

He may be a multi-grammy award winner, but Elton John is just like everyone else when it comes to shopping for new records.

Thursday, he was spotted at Beat Street Records in Vancouver, digging through a batch of vinyl albums when staff managed to snap a photo and post to social media.

Looking for anything in particular? According to staff of the record store, he asked if they had any Tech N9ne, a gangster rapper.

It seems the Rocket Man was on a quick trip through the city, before he heads to Victoria for two weekend shows.

But before heading out, he left staff with an autographed record  to remember him by.
